Frequently Asked Questions

Helping you to understand

Do YOU Have ANY Questions?

Hypnosis

Hypnotherapy is a state of relaxation and concentration at one with a state of heightened awareness, induced by suggestion.
It is a non-intrusive and natural way of helping you to deal with life’s issues and challenges, offering a deeply relaxing experience that enables direct contact with the subconscious mind.
While being gently guided by the practitioner, you can make those changes to rid yourself of negative and unwanted perceptions, which will benefit your life and wellbeing

I like Sarbin’s (2006) definition:
“Hypnosis is believed-in imagination”.

When in hypnosis, will I do anything against my will?

Definitely not. You are always in control. As your senses are heightened by about 30% in hypnosis, you are more aware of your feelings and what is being said to you. You will only do what is acceptable to your personal beliefs and principles.

What if I don't wake up?

That is impossible. You would either wake immediately if an emergency occurred, or you would fall into a natural sleep and waken when ready to.

Am I going to tell you all my secrets?

No. Hypnosis is not a truth serum! Very few people want to speak at all.

What does it feel like to be hypnotised?

Wonderful. Most people feel very relaxed and calm. It feels great!

I have not been hypnotised before. Will you be able to hypnotise me?

Practically everyone can be hypnotised. There are only a small percentage of people who can’t be hypnotised: young children under the age of 5, the mentally ill and of course those who do not want to be hypnotised! You are always in control, so if you want to be hypnotised, you will.
